MY SERVICES

In-person sessions

My holistic approach evolves between the therapeutic touch of more commons techniques of massage therapy (such as Swedish, Trigger points, Myofascial Release, etc.) to others with a more refined touch, including CranioSacral and InSynchronicity, which facilitate the body’s natural and innate healing processes.

For optimal results and more in-depth emotional releases and re-alignment, I will use Light Language.

In-person sessions are eligible for full or partial reimbursement depending on your health insurance’s additional coverage—please check with your insurance provider to see if massage therapy services are covered.

Massage Therapy

Massage therapy is the manipulation of soft tissues of the body including muscles, connective tissue, tendons, ligaments and joints. Massage therapy is a clinically-oriented healthcare option that helps alleviate the discomfort associated with every day occupational stresses, muscular over-use and many chronic pain conditions.

Massage therapy can be used as a treatment for both acute and chronic conditions. RMTs work with a wide variety of patients in the treatment of illness, injury rehabilitation and disability. Massage therapy can also be used as part of a preventative care program. This includes sports training, injury prevention, ongoing stress management and more!

CranioSacral Therapy

This text is taken, in part, from the Upledger Institute website

CranioSacral Therapy (CST) is a gentle, hands-on method, for evaluating and enhancing the functioning of the body system called the craniosacral system – comprised of the membranes and cerebrospinal fluid that surround and protect the brain and spinal cord.

A soft touch, generally no greater than 5 grams, or about the weight of a nickel, is used to release restrictions in the craniosacral system, which has been shown to improve the functioning of the central nervous system, as well as many other systems of the body, such as digestive, musculoskeletal, respiratory, circulatory, and more.

By facilitating the body’s natural and innate healing processes, CST is increasingly used as a preventive health measure for its ability to bolster resistance to disease, and is effective for helping people with a wide range of healthcare challenges associated with pain and dysfunction, including:

  • Anxiety
  • Migraine Headaches
  • Chronic Neck and Back Pain
  • Motor-Coordination Impairments
  • Central Nervous System Disorders
  • Concussions and Traumatic Brain Injuries
  • Spinal Cord Injuries
  • Scoliosis
  • Learning Disabilities
  • ADD/ADHD
  • Chronic Fatigue
  • Emotional Difficulties
  • Stress and Tension-Related Problems
  • Fibromyalgia and other Connective-Tissue Disorders
  • Temporomandibular Joint Syndrome (TMJ)
  • Neurovascular or Immune Disorders
  • Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder
  • Post-Surgical Dysfunction etc …

Myofascial Release

To understand myofascial release, first we have to understand the fascia! The fascia is the connective tissue that supports and connects every layer of the body. It surrounds every muscle, every muscle group, every muscle cell, every nerve, every lymph vessel and more! When you observe it under a microscope, it resembles a spiderweb. It has six times more sensory nerve endings than muscles. As with many other systems of the body, the fascia adapts and responds to external stress (environment) and to internal stress (in the body).

The myofascial release technique involves slow, sustained pressure. It is applied to areas where the fascia restricts mobility and can cause pain.

Several studies have shown that myofascial release is an effective technique to:

  • Relieve pain
  • Treat fibromyalgia
  • Increase blood flow
  • Improve range of motion
  • Accelerate muscle recovery
  • Mitigate chronic pain in the lower back
  • Improve sleep and reduce anxiety and depression
  • Improve quality of life
